Hounslow Environment Department still maintains a Noise Team

NoiseGuidanceIf a particular and sustained noise occurs in the evening and night time the Noise Team should be able to witness it and hopefully identify the source.

Please call 020 8583 2222 between 22:00 and 04:00hrs on Friday or Saturday night and leave a message for the Noise Team.  They will call you back and arrange to visit you and witness the noise.

Otherwise and at other times, use these log sheets to take a detailed record of the noise.

These log sheets act as important evidence if the case goes to court, therefore it is essential that they are clear and accurate.

Please fill out these log sheets for 2 – 4 weeks and return them to pollution@hounslow.gov.uk e-mail or post to Pollution Control, London Borough of Hounslow, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, Middlesex, TW3 4DN. Continue reading

The Conquest Club/Nishkam Academy Proposal

Conquest Club to Nishkam Academy: no planning application or permission granted – but site being bought with your money

141129 Conquest Club signHounslow’s Labour council continues to invest local money in extending its primary schools to ease the demand for places for this age group.  David Cameron turned up unannounced at the Green School recently to continue to punt his government’s money wasting free school dogma which means that Hounslow’s (councillors continue to be told) 3 new secondary schools needed by 2018 can only be developed by anyone but the local authority.

Despite this advancing, unproved and often controversial tax funded free market in education, Hounslow Council still has a duty to provide all children with a school place and, to attempt a fist at coordination, meets with other providers via a local Academy and Free School Reference Group. The two online petitions requesting parking controls between Ridgeway Road and Thornbury Road were reported at the 27.1.2015 Borough Council meeting.  Another given me to submit on behalf of petitioners in the Grove Road, Avenue Road and College Road area made it three that night on Spring Grove parking.

The petitions closed just as consultation was ending on a controlled parking zone south of Spring Grove Road from The Drive to Gresham Road in Hounslow Central Ward.  They were however raised at the Isleworth & Brentford Area Forum on 6.11.2014 and it was agreed that work should start in response to the Thornbury Road petitions.  The three Osterley & Spring Grove Ward councillors met with Mr Sahota of the council’s Traffic Team later that month to discuss and agree a process and consultation timetable. I handed a petition to the Mayor of Hounslow on behalf of signatories from the College Road, Grove Road, Avenue Road neighbourhood requesting parking controls at the 27.1.2015 Borough Council meeting.

Other submissions recorded that night were two separate petitions from the Thornbury Road neighbourhood and another from Wyke Gardens estate, also requesting local parking controls. Continue reading

Half a year a Councillor – meeting at West Thames College Thursday 13 November 2014

Some 40 locals turned up at West Thames College to see a presentation on Hounslow Highways and exchange with that organisation’s man in charge, Mr Rob Gillespie. The evening was arranged to also offer Osterley & Spring Grove residents an opportunity to raise or discuss issues with other local people and their ward councillor six months after the borough elections.

The guest speaker was chosen as his teams have been around during the last year across most of the ward renewing pavements, replacing streetlights and resurfacing roads. Another reason was because a fair amount of casework raised by residents includes tree, verge, flytipping and street issues. Continue reading
